How to make Spicy Pasta with Grilled Shrimp

For the spicy pasta:

  • 200 gr pasta (uncooked)
  • 5 gr medium-sized shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • A shallot, finely chopped
  • A tablespoon olive oil
  • A can of diced tomatoes
  • A tablespoon of chopped oregano
  • A tablespoon of chopped basil
  • A half teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • Three cloves of minced garlic
  • A teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • A half teaspoon of chili powder
  • 100 gr cream, you may use whipping cream or heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper as the seasoning

For the shrimp basting oil:

  • 30 gr olive oil
  • Three cloves of minced garlic
  • A half teaspoon of smoked paprika

  1. First, you need to soak the skewers in a bowl of water for around 10 minutes, if you use wooden skewers. Besides, you may also prepare a wet paper towel and put the skewers in it until they are completely wrapped. Here, you will need around four skewers.
  2. Next, you need to thaw the shrimp (if it is frozen). Simply prepare a colander and place the frozen shrimp in it, then bring the colander under the running water until they turn thawed. Also, don’t forget to devein and peel the shrimp, if you want or you can keep the tails in it.
  3. Then, prepare a small bowl to combine the shrimp basting oil ingredients in it, like the minced garlic, olive oil, and the smoked paprika. Then, stir them until they are completely combined. When the skewers are ready, you may continue to thread the shrimp in it.
  4. After that, you need to prepare for the pasta. Simply prepare a large pot and fill with water that has been combined with salt. Heat the water until it gets boiled and you may place the pasta in it. Cook the pasta by looking at the instructions written in the package until it is completely cooked.
  5. To continue, you need to chop some herbs, like oregano, basil, and shallot, then sauté these ingredients on top of a deep skillet that has been heated with olive oil over medium heat. Cook the ingredients for around 3 to 5 minutes while stirring them occasionally.

Add the remaining ingredients of spicy pasta to the sauce until it gets thickened. Then, add the cooked pasta to the skillet and keep the heat low while you grill the shrimp. To serve, place the spicy pasta on top of your serving platter and add a skewer of shrimp on it. You may remove the shrimp from the skewers using a fork and enjoy the dish until it is clean.
