Thanksgiving + Baby Update: 8 Months

Thankful. Grateful. Blessed. This is how I feel today and every day, forever in debt to the good Lord for giving me the gift of the greatest love I’ve ever known in the form of a precious little boy.

I have so much to be thankful for this year, starting with my little blessing who just turned 8 months old earlier this week! He loves to explore and is innately curious. It’s amazing to the see the wonder of the world again through the eyes of a child.

All in the past month, the babe learned how to sit up on his own (my big baby can finally hold up all of his weight!), and he went from army crawling to full-on crawling on his hands and knees. He recently learned how to pull up to stand, so he likes to spend his time refining his new skill—pulling himself up on the side of his Pack ’n Play, on window sills, on me. He has two bottom teeth that are about halfway in. He still loves milk, but eating solid foods is hit-or-miss depending on the day (and his mood). He doesn’t visit his pediatrician’s office again until next month, so unofficially, he weighs 23+ lbs. (!!!) Playing peek-a-boo is his favorite thing ever. He’s kind of a mama’s boy. ;) And he lights up when he sees his daddy and his doggy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Wishing you lots of happy moments with your family and friends today.

  1. How lovely to reminisce about my young motherhood through you, Sharisse. Reading your words brings back many memories of me checking what my children were doing at the time and keeping up with weights, favorite things, etc. It’s been a long long long time since I was that young mother, and you helped me remember “her” today. Thanks for the memories……
