We broke out the long sleeves and pants today for the first time this season. Hooray! I woke up freezing this morning and felt so excited about it that I switched from the A/C to the heater and then spent part of the morning packing away into bins most of C’s summer clothes that I know won’t fit him next year. Perhaps for baby #2 some day. :) It’s been raining for the past few days, and I think the warm weather is finally behind us. At least that’s what the 10-day forecast is leading me to believe for now, haha.
C and I have been cooped up indoors for the better part of two days because of the rain, so when the skies were clear today we jumped at the chance to play outside in the crisp autumn air.
Our homeowner’s association set up this fun area of hay bales and pumpkins in front of the community clubhouse a week or so ago, and I’ve made a note to myself every time we drive by it to remember to stop for a picture. We walked over there today from the neighborhood playground and did just that!
I can’t get over how perfectly his shirt matches those twinkling fall lights on the clubhouse roof (totally unplanned but too cute not to point out!).
C has been loving pumpkins this fall, so he really enjoyed playing around this little area. Every time we go to the grocery store, he makes me stop out front first so he can touch each “pump” on display. We have our own display of pumpkins near our fireplace that C happily rearranges each day. One of them has an on/off switch and lights up inside—he brings this one to me every morning to turn on for him before anything else, tells me thank you in sign language and gives me a kiss. He just does the cutest, sweetest things sometimes that make me feel so loved and so incredibly lucky to be his mama.
I hope you’re enjoying your fall so far! What’s your favorite part about this season?
