Sunday Snapshot: It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

In actuality, this Sunday Snapshot isn’t the greatest image. It’s not even close to being sharp, it’s not exposed correctly, it’s a little grainy. It’s one I would delete from my camera along with other blurry and out-of-focus photos had it been of anything else. But I adore it so much that here it is, flaws and all.

Sunday Snapshot: It's Raining, It's Pouring | Savvy Sweet Life

Texas summers are typically filled with 100° days, so a nice rain shower and cloudy skies yesterday gave us much-needed cooler temperatures for the weekend.

C was oohing and aahing as the rain poured down and bounced off the ground, so our curious beagle had to join him at the back door window to see what was so interesting. They stood there side by side like this for a while just watching the rain fall (long enough for me to grab my camera and snap some pictures, which is a long time in toddler land but not quite long enough for me to get all of the manual settings right in my camera). Even so, it was a precious moment for this mama! There’s just something insanely adorable about dogs and babies together, isn’t there?

Enjoy your last few days of summer! Even though it’s back-to-school time and the pumpkins are already out, it’s still officially summer for a few more days … so we’ll be doing the most summery summer things until then. :)

  1. I love seeing our dog and eldest daughter interact. Our dog was very wary of her when she was born and ignored her for ages (probably a good thing). Now she can throw a ball our dog has started to pay interest and I think they are going to be great friends :) #mycapturedmoment

    1. I love that! We had our dog for nine years before we had our son, so she was also wary of him initially (and probably a little jealous)! But my son just loves her, and she’s coming around too :) They play a lot more now, and I know they’ll be great friends as well.

    1. Haha, Katie, so true! We don’t get much rain. Last summer it hadn’t rained in our part of Texas for so long that we were under strict water restrictions and could only water our lawn once every two weeks!

    1. Thank you, Heledd! It even stays pretty warm here through the beginning of fall, but we eventually get cooler temperatures. My husband and I visited London a couple years ago, and it was such a lovely place filled with so much history. We enjoyed it and look forward to visiting again one day!

  2. Absolutely stunning photo!!! Thanks for linking up to Share With Me blog hop. I hope you have enjoyed reading so many fab other blog posts and to see you again tomorrow for another great round of #sharewithme
