Here I am planning out and dreaming about our next Disney experience, and I realized that I only shared one (ONE!) photo of our day at Disneyland, which makes me a little sad because one of my favorite memories of my son happened there. You know, the kind of moment you’ll hold on to and cherish forever, the kind that replays in your mind a thousand times and you still can’t get enough it? Yeah, one of those.
So this is a throwback to last year and a moment in time that brought happy tears to my eyes and made celebrating my 30th birthday at Disneyland the greatest idea ever. This is also a reminder to myself to go through all our photos and share the rest of our Disneyland fun with you! It was both my son’s (who was 15 months old at the time) and my husband’s first time there, and it was a special experience for all of us.
You might have figured out by now that my love for Winnie the Pooh runs deep. I think I’ve left some evidence here, here, here and … oh, yes, this adorable one here. ;) I’m doing my part to pass the love on to a new generation, and it makes my heart happy that my son does in fact adore Winnie the Pooh.
Naturally what I was most looking forward to about our day at Disneyland was meeting Winnie, but I had a tinge of fear that C would be terrified of a life-size Pooh Bear. I’m pretty sure that would have broken my heart! While we were waiting in line, other parents warned us that he would probably be scared and that their children were scared at his age. I tempered my expectations. When our turn came up, Winnie knelt down and waved. I walked my son over to interact with him, hoping for the best. And when C reached his little arms as high as they could reach and wrapped them around the neck of his favorite character, my heart didn’t break; it melted.
I couldn’t leave you without a video now, right? Also, this is my first video on YouTube! If you like it, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel over there, will ya? :)
Not even in my sweetest dreams could I have imagined anything more perfect happening for this mama bear’s 30th birthday than that giant embrace between my little bear and his Pooh Bear.
