One Year of Baby C: A Monthly Photo Collage

I’ve been working for a while now on a series of posts related to my little guy’s first birthday, and I’m excited to start sharing them with you!

To start off, here’s the outcome of Baby C’s monthly photos: Monthly Baby Photos | Savvy Sweet LifeI took the photos each month on the date he was born. He sat in the glider in his nursery next to a well-loved stuffed bear that’s special to both of us—my mom gave it to me when I was little and now I’ve given it to him.

Taking the photos each month was pretty easy at first, until about halfway through the year when he caught on to the stickers (if you’re looking for some and like them, these are the ones I used). Then it became a game of distraction to keep him from peeling the sticker off his onesie and crinkling it all up, which happened a few times!

It was also a challenge the first few months to keep him upright before he could sit up on his own and another challenge the last few months to keep him from trying to get down. But it’s doable and definitely worth it for the adorable month-by-month comparison you’ll end up with! It’s amazing to see how much he’s grown and changed in just one year through the series of photographs.

I’m happy with how my monthly photo collage turned out, and I can’t wait to add the finished product to his nursery decor. Up next I’ll share some tips on making your own monthly photo collage of baby’s first year. After a year of taking monthly photos, I’ve definitely learned a thing or two about what I could’ve and should’ve done to make these even better. Stay tuned!

  1. What a cutie!! I wish I would have thought of doing pictures like these when my daughter was little! I’ll have to keep that in mind for the next one!

Thank you for sharing with us at #MommyMeetupMondays!

  2. Love these! I went overboard and took a picture every day of my son Caleb’s first year using the Photo 365 app on my iPhone. I got monthly pictures with the stickers the first two months. Then we moved and I lost the stickers! I love being able to look back at the pictures and seeing how much the babe has changed. Thanks for sharing! #MommyMeetUpMondays

    1. That’s amazing that you did daily pictures, Jules! You should do one of those time-lapse videos with them! I can totally relate, so I don’t think you went overboard—there wasn’t a day gone by in my son’s first year that I didn’t snap a photo or two or three … or 20, ha ;)

  3. Soooo adorable! I’m doing monthly pictures for my little one as well. It’s amazing how fast they grow and change even from month to month!

  4. Your little one is a handsome fellow! :) Such a cute way to see the growth and changes throughout the year. I bought similar stickers before my daughter was born and somehow lost them in our move. Then I repurchased them right before the first month only to lose them again before it was time for month 2. For some reason these cute stickers weren’t meant to be for us so I just made my own. Enjoy your little one!

  5. What a cutie! I love those month stickers! I see so many Moms using them and I’m just sitting here like, “How did I not know about these?!” LOL What a cutie! God bless you and your family!

  6. He’s so adorable! I love this. Yeah, it gets harder and harder to take good pics of them once they know what’s going on and when they start moving around. I’m doing a 365 photo project for my daughter and she’s all over the place, lol. And she doesn’t like it when I put the sticker on her either, haha.

    1. Haha, babies are so funny that way. If they only realized that playtime could be resumed so much quicker with a little picture-taking cooperation ;) I love those 365 photo projects—I might need to start one soon! Thank you for your comment, and I’m glad you stopped by!

  7. Ahh so very precious. I love when you get to see all the photos side by side to compare them. Growing up way too fast and too cute. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme

    1. Thank you for your kind words! It’s now framed in the nursery, and I adore seeing it while we’re in there. My little one likes to see his pictures too, so we look at it all the time :)

    1. Aww! If you’re anything like me, I bet you have plenty of other photos of your little guy’s first year though. Seriously, I feel like I took a million pictures! Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

    1. He does, doesn’t he? I’m not quite sure how I feel about that ;) Yes, the keepsake aspect is the best part and makes the commitment to taking monthly photos worth it. Thank you, so glad you stopped by!

    1. Happy first birthday to your son! I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating! I’m so glad you came across my monthly photo collage and love it. Thank you! I used Adobe Photoshop to make it, but if you don’t have access to that, try PicMonkey—it’s a free online photo editing website that has a collage feature. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help!
