1-Year Blogiversary + Giveaway!

To celebrate the first anniversary of my blog and to say thanks to everyone who visits my little space here on the regular, I put together a giveaway of some of my favorite things. But first, a great big THANK YOU for all the love and support I’ve gotten from you, my readers. I appreciate each and every one of you—all of your comments, emails, feedback, social media interaction, encouragement and kind words have helped keep me going. I’m blown away by how much Savvy Sweet Life has grown in just a year, and I’m grateful for everything you’ve done and continue to do to help with that. It all means so much to me. Really. Sincerely. You guys are the best. ♥

Walk down memory lane with me and take a look back at some of the highlights from my first year of blogging:

Most Viewed Post

My Vintage Airplane First Birthday Party post I put up just a few months ago already has the highest number of page views for the year. Pinterest continues to be the biggest traffic-driver for this one. And it seems that new moms are really into first birthday stuff in general (well of course!) because my Top 5 posts for the year were all part of my first birthday series. You can browse those posts here.

Most Featured Post

My Fall Pumpkin Patch Felt Board got so much love from the blogging community, and I was overjoyed by all the great feedback on this craft project. It was chosen as the featured post in multiple linkups and was featured twice on Instagram as well (you can see a list of where it was featured at the bottom of the original post). My little boy is still having fun with this, and I’m planning on updating the scene to something Christmas-inspired soon!

Most Personal Post

family-c-section-birthMy Birth Story for Cesarean Awareness, definitely. It was hard to put myself out there so vulnerably, but it was worth it to know that I helped comfort even just one person. So many lovely moms thanked me for sharing my story, and I loved hearing all the responses from other mamas who took the time to share their stories with me too. This was my first very personal post, and the positive response gave me the confidence to write more in the future. It’s reassuring to know that other women have experienced similar circumstances and to know you’re not alone in your motherhood journey.

Most Commented-On Post

Sunday Snapshot: Baby's First Haircut | Savvy Sweet LifeThe post I’ve received the most comments on is Sunday Snapshot: Baby’s First Haircut. It’s been endearing to hear from so many parents who had a hard time with their babies getting a first haircut too.

I started the Sunday Snapshot series because I was feeling down about not giving my blog enough attention on the front-end. I spend a lot of my allotted blogging time on the back-end—optimizing SEO, researching and reading about blogging best practices, networking and connecting with other bloggers in my niche, working on my site dynamics, responding to blog comments/social media comments/emails, etc. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and this often takes up the majority of my time, leaving minimal to write and edit photos. Which seems backward, I know! But I do think it’s beneficial to put the time into the back-end early on to set myself up for success.

So this series is one I’m definitely planning on continuing into year two. It keeps me in the habit of blogging regularly and helps me stay accountable for publishing new content. You’ll see them pop up in between more in-depth posts, and you can see all the Sunday Snapshots so far here.

My Favorite Post

savvysweetlife-soll-summer12Snippets of Life Lately was a fun one to put together because I got to go through all the pictures from the summer. This is another “series” if you will that I plan on doing again. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, I’m sure you’ve caught on to the fact that I’m terrible about blogging our day-to-day, so this gives me an opportunity to catch you up on what’s been going on with us. OK fine, so it’s not just the day-to-day … I’m really behind on blogging about some big events too! :o

My First Post

family-6monthsI titled it Mom Meets Blog. It was the start of my blogging journey, and I was so proud of this new passion project of mine. Give it some love and learn a little more about me too. :) I hope you’ll stick around for more to come!

On to the GIVEAWAY! I had a lot of fun shopping for the items to include, and I hope you love them just as much as I do!

1-Year Blogiversary + Giveaway! | Savvy Sweet Life

  • Ceramic candle lantern + set of three tea-light candles—I’m always swooning over lovely, neutral, understated decor. This is all of those and perfect for winter!
  • Sugar Paper LA 2016 monthly planner—I try to be ultra-organized, so a planner is a must in my world. I love the classic black + white stripes and slim profile of this one.
  • Happy Everything journal—Pretty paper goods are my weakness. If it’s pretty and it’s made of paper, chances are I’m buying it. You can use this for anything! I love the gorgeous watercolors, the gold wording on the front cover and the gilded page edges.
  • essie nail polish in Master Plan—If you know me well, you know how much I love gray. This is a soft gray shade and one of my favorite fall/winter polish colors to wear!
  • $15 Starbucks gift card—because coffee.

    1. Thank you, Lauren! I totally need to start listening to podcasts in the car again. Thanks for the reminder! I used to have an hour commute each way to work, and I would listen to either podcasts or audiobooks a lot of the time. It always seemed to make the drive go back faster :) So glad you love the giveaway and entered—good luck!

  1. Happy 1 year! It’s been amazing watching your beautiful family grow! I’m so happy to be a part of your life for so long! I love every post you do! It’s like a lil present every time. Some make me laugh, some cry, and all of them smile! Keep it up! –TTFN xoxo

  2. Happy Blogiversary! I truly enjoy reading all your posts, and what a wonderful gift this is to C to look back on this and see what a sweet childhood he had. I know all the work, love, and sleepless nights you put into this and you are doing an amazing job! Love you friend!

    1. Yes, love them! They are so cute and fun. I need to look into some of the other Bento lunch supplies besides the boxes—great idea! Thanks so much for sharing and entering the giveaway. Good luck! :)

  3. Very proud of you! I’ve always prayed for God to guide you…and each time I peek at your blog and your posts on Facebook–I see many answered prayers! You’re doing great and I think you’re a super awesome mom! Stay consistent and your love will surpass all the challenges ahead. Something I have always loved are “Parols” during the Christmas holidays in the Philippines! It’s never too early to learn and I’m sure C would enjoy helping you make it. I can just imagine how creative you would be with it! Look it up ;)
Remember that I am always here for you…always!

    1. Thank you so much, Haidee! I wish shipping charges internationally weren’t so absurd so that I could include everybody :( But I do appreciate you leaving me a note still, so sweet. I have a long-time friend from New Zealand who moved back there a few years ago. She’s one of the loveliest people I know :) I hope to visit there someday!

  4. Hello luv I’ve been lowkey obsessed with my faux fur lined fingerless gloves lately. This is a chic cozy gift for everyone! Happy holidays and good luck everyone!

    1. Ooh, yes! I especially love the holiday scents. I have Pumpkin Cupcake and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin out right now, but I’m excited to pull out the Christmas candles after Thanksgiving :) Thanks so much for stopping by and for entering the giveaway—good luck!

    1. That’s a great idea, Rachel! I need to look into more of them. I’ve been seeing a few for men lately, so that might be a good option for the hard-to-shop-for guys in my life. Thanks for sharing one of your favorite things, and good luck!

  5. Happy Blogiversary Sharisse! It’s been a pleasure getting to know you through the group. I love how blogging can connect us even if we may never meet. We have a great community to share with and I con’t wait to see what this next year will bring for you!

    1. Thank you so much, Nicky! I appreciate your kind words and support. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you as well and learning from you along the way :) Excited to see what the next year will bring for both of us and our group!

  6. Congratulations on your blogiversary! This is such a nice giveaway, and your favorites are just beautiful. One of my favorite things is my set of Frixion erasable pens. I use them to color code my planner, and since they can be erased cleanly, my planner stays nice and neat (good for my OCD). :)

    1. You’re so sweet, Anne. Thank you! I use the Sharpie fine-point colored pens and love them, but you might have just talked me into trying a different pen! I just looked those up, and they look awesome! Do they bleed through paper at all? I need a pretty erasable pen to help my OCD too :)
